INTRUDER ALARM MONITORING

How security monitoring works for you - via our (ARC) Alarm Receiving Centre

In the case of an intruder alarm, for example, a communication device is connected to your system, this is then linked to ARC via a standard telephone line or via a secure radio data network, which will ensure that it will continue to signal even if  telephone wires are cut, to gain a response from the appropriate security service.

If the alarm is activated, it automatically reports to ARC within seconds and sends details of time, location and type of alert. The alarm transmission is, where appropriate, filtered to remove unwanted false alarms and when the operator has confirmed its authenticity, the alarm signal will be dispatched to an appropriate emergency service.

SIGNALLING DEVICES

Why do I need a DUAL SIGNALLING DEVICE for security monitoring?

  Dualcom

Both offer dual signalling

Redcare     Police and insurance regulations insist that an alarm is proven to be genuine before police response can be actioned.  This is known as a 'confirmed' alarm.

DD243 - ACPO

An alarm is deemed 'Confirmed' only when two separate signals are received within a specified time frame. With a single-path device, the action of cutting the telephone line prevents transmission of a second signal. DualCom plus and RedCARE GSM overcomes this problem by using its second path to transmit a required confirming signal.
The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) have a policy on intruder alarms known as DD243. This recommends that high priority is given only to alarms which are confirmed.
